For Moosh’s nursery, I knew I wanted a soft earth-tone palette in a Mid-Century Modern style so it would be cohesive with the rest of Maple House. I painted the walls in Jogging Path by Sherwin Williams that’s this beautiful shade of green and very nature-inspired. For the trim, doors, and ceiling, I used the same white paint throughout the house in Pure White by Sherwin Williams.
I created a mood board of Moosh’s nursery with a woodland theme in mind. I wanted his room to feel inviting, calming, and magical. I focused on the feel of the room by making it monochromatic and adding different shades of green.
Moosh didn’t even use his nursery until he was six months old because he slept in our bedroom in the SNOO until he transitioned to his crib when we started sleep training. I’m so thankful my mom gifted us this gorgeous Abigail 3-in-1 Convertible crib that Moosh can grow into at The Farmhouse.
I shared on Instagram that we are selling Maple House and moving to an 11-acre farm in Fairhope to start a homestead. Moosh’s bedroom will be almost twice the size of the nursery and, we’re thrilled about having more space to grow as a family.
I wanted to add little stars throughout his nursery for that magical feel. I found this Starry Globe Nightlight from Target to use as a nightlight and this beautiful Emily & Meritt Star Ceiling Baby Mobile from Pottery Barn Kids.
I hung the star baby mobile above the crib between these Gold Photo Frames from At Home. I added some burlap for the mat to add texture and then added some illustrations from Where the Wild Things Are that pulled the color palette together perfectly.

As soon as I saw this bedding from Pottery Barn Kids, I immediately added it to my cart. Trey and I are such nerds, and these Star Wars Grogu Organic Fitted Sheet were too funny not to get. If you look closely enough at the pattern, you’ll see what I mean.
Some of our favorite nursery items are the Hatch Rest+ Sleep Machine our in-laws gifted us. This sleep machine has given all three of us the most glorious sleep since Moosh was a newborn. We still use it (17 months later) and take it with us on any trips.
As soon as the White Noise setting is cranked up all the way, Moosh will bury his face into his crib mattress and stick his booty up in the air, letting us know he’s ready for bedtime.
Some of our sweetest memories are from having Moosh on our chest and being gently rocked to sleep in this rocking chair. Having this Lory Pouf Textured ottoman was firm but soft enough to use as a footrest and seat that can be easily tucked under the rocking chair for more space.
The gold foil floating bookshelves in the nursery are lovely but don’t hold all of his books, so we keep most of them in his closet. I want Moosh to have a proper bookshelf or rows of shelves where he can reach and grab a book to read in his new room at the farm.
Most of Moosh’s clothes are in this 3-Drawer Dresser, and we use this Accordion Decorative Hook Rack to hang up clothes, his bath towel, or sleep sack he wears for bedtime. To stay organized, I ordered these small SKUBB Box organizers from Ikea, which has helped keep the chaos of clothes from being all over the place.
Lastly, we added plush stuffed animals for that woodland theme. Moosh loves his Bear Critter Plush Nursery Rocker and cuddles with this Bear Critter Plush at bedtime. His aunt gifted us these Cuddle+Kind hand-knit dolls for his birthday and Christmas last year. Not only are these really beautifully knit, but are ethically sourced, and every doll feeds ten children in need.
It’s bittersweet knowing Moosh is outgrowing his nursery but have really enjoyed this space. I look forward to decorating his new room at the farm and will be sharing all the decorating in the process when we move!
